Project Description

This was a labor of love for my fiancé’s debut album. I dusted off my decade-old camera to shoot the starry high desert sky in Joshua Tree National Park—it was my second attempt at astrophotography since circa 2012. The moon was slow to rise and I managed to time it right for each exposure between cars passing by. I also tried my hand at golden hour portrait photography and ended up superimposing clear shots of the night sky into the evening portraits.

My fiancé mentioned he’d like stagecoach pinstripes incorporated into the design of his album cover, so I set out to capture an intricate but simple styling that matched his personality, music, and the photos used.
